The Letter
PAOLO NANI TEATER
COPENHAGEN, DENMARK
The Letter, Paolo Nani and Nullo Facchini
director: Nullo Facchini
cast: Paolo Nani
In his performance The Letter, people laugh and laugh: there’s virtually not a single moment in which people are not laughing. More than one journalist wrote that at the end of The Letter they found themselves with aching hands, aching stomach, for the clapping and compulsive laughing during the show. The Letter is the result of years of adjustments of timing, and study of the details. It is written in one of the critics: ‘”The Letter” is not only one of the funniest shows around, it is also a miniature anthology of comedy, a manifesto of laughter. In it Nani combines mime, the study of comic timing and rhythm, a parody of genres and narrative styles, clowning, juggling, and acrobatics.’
